Angie is a Colombian-American textile artist and designer whose work blends textile history with sustainability. A graduate of Portland State University, she has received accolades including the Arlene Schnitzer Visual Arts Prize and the Surface Design Association's Outstanding Student Award.
With a focus on sustainable design, she has worked as a Textile Arts Sustainability Consultant at Portland State University and as a Color and Material Design Specialist at Nike Blue Ribbon Studio, where she pioneered Nike's first natural dye garden. Angie also teaches culturally relevant design to BIPOC & immigrant students at Cada Casa, leading workshops that foster creativity and hands-on learning.
Her work was featured in Kelly Reichardt’s film Showing Up and has been exhibited multiple times in the Jordan Schnitzer Museum, with pieces held in collections like the RACC Public Arts Collection. Angie's practice centers on cultural, social, and environmental impact through art and design.
